Learn the step-by-step process of applying to Cal State Fullerton by selecting one of the options below:

Application Filing Periods:

Fall Filing Period: October 1st – March 31st

Spring Filing Period: Not Applicable

Step 1 – CSU Application
  • Submit the undergraduate CSU Mentor online application at www.csumentor.edu
  • Submit the $55 application fee (instructions are found in the online application)

Step 2 – Submit Supporting Documents
  • Official High School Transcripts once your fall 2015 grades are available (translated, if necessary)
  • SAT/ACT scores
  • English proficiency exam required for students that have completed less than 3 years of high school in the United States

Step 3 – If required, take the Entry Level Math (ELM) and English Placement Test (EPT)
Step 4 – Submit financial documents after receiving an admission decision
  • CSUF Financial Affidavit signed by your sponsor:

  • Bank Statement from your sponsor’s bank (dated within the last year)
  • Copy of Passport
  • Copy of your current I-20 if you are currently in the United States

  • Submit the $55 application fee (instructions are found in the online application)

Step 2 – Submit Supporting Documents
  • Official High School Transcripts (translated, if necessary)
  • TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE test. (For a list of exceptions, please visit http://international.fullerton.edu/admissions/freshman)
  • Explanation After High School Letter (If it has been 6 months or more since you graduated from high school)
  • SAT scores, highly recommended

Step 3 – Submit financial documents after receiving an admission decision
  • CSUF Financial Affidavit signed by your sponsor:

  • Bank Statement from your financial sponsor’s bank (dated within the last year), showing sufficient funding
  • Copy of Passport
  • Copy of your current I-20 and/or I-94 if you are currently in the United States

Admission Requirements

  • At least 60 transferable semester college units (90 quarter units). California college transfers, visit assist.org for transferrable classes
  • CSU-approved general education with grades of C- or better for at least the "Golden Four" course requirements:
    • Oral Communication (speech or communications course)
    • Written Communication (English composition)
    • Critical Thinking (logic or composition analysis)
    • Mathematics (at level beyond intermediate algebra)

Deadlines to complete the Golden Four requirements:

  • Transfer applicants applying for the Fall term must complete the Golden Four courses no later than the end of the Spring term
  • Transfer applicants applying for the Spring term must complete the Golden Four courses no later than the end of the Summer term

Step 1 – CSU Application
  • Submit the undergraduate CSU online application at www.csumentor.edu
  • Submit the $55 application fee (instructions are found in the online application)

Step 2 – Submit Supporting Documents
  • Official Transcripts from each school listed on the CSU Mentor application (translated to English, if necessary)
  • Students who complete less than 60 units in the U.S. are required to submit an English Proficiency Exam

TOEFL: 500 on the paper (pBT) or 61 Internet (iBT) or 5.5 IELTS or 43 PTE

Step 3 – Submit financial documents after receiving an admission decision

Admission Requirements

  • At least 2 years or 60 semester credits from an accredited university or college
  • Must include completion of a Math course with a passing grade of "C" or higher (intermediate algebra or higher)

Step 3 – Submit financial documents after receiving an admission decision

Admission is competitive and may at any time. It is strongly encouraged that you submit your application as early as possible.

Some programs have additional requirements such as: department applications, letters of recommendation, portfolios, auditions, tests ( GMAT, GRE, MAT).
