Advising

International Students and Scholars (ISS) provides advising and services to international students at CSUF. We are your primary resource for:

• Maintaining F-1/J-1 status

• Travel and reentry

• Health insurance requirements

• Employment authorizations (CPT, OPT, STEM OPT)

• Cultural adjustment

Other campus advisors:

In-Person Drop-In Advising (PLN-120) 

• Quick questions (about 5 minutes)

• Sign up in person, starting 30 minutes before session begins

• Students helped in order of sign-up

Virtual Appointments

Limited 10-minute virtual appointments are available Monday through Friday.

Requests and Documents: No appointment is needed for these ISS requests. Before scheduling an appointment to place a request or submit a form, please first visit our Requests and Documents page to find and complete the desired request form electronically. Allow ISS time to process these requests.

Virtual Appointment Guidelines

• Who may book: Enrolled students + OPT/STEM OPT students

• Do not book if:

  • You are admitted but waiting for I-20/DS-2019 → email [iss@fullerton.edu]

  • You are a prospective student → contact Office of Admissions

• Booking rules:

  • One appointment at a time

  • Multiple bookings will be cancelled and earliest appointment slot will be kept

  • If no slots show, we are fully booked for that day

  • New appointment slots will appear each morning Monday-Friday between 8:30 - 9:00 am

• Held on Microsoft Teams (no software download needed)

• Steps:

  1. Click the "Meet with an ISS Advisor" button

  2. Select a time

  3. Join at scheduled time via Teams link
