Ending STEM Employment and Maintaining STEM OPT Benefit

STEM OPT students must report to ISS when ending employment with one company.

 

Due Date: Within 10 days of the employment end date.

Upon approval, ISS will issue an updated I-20.

Instructions

1. Log in to your International Students & Scholars (ISS) Portal using the link below.
2. Navigate to (2) Personal & Program and confirm that your U.S. physical address is current.
   • If your address is not up to date, update your SEVIS Domestic Address in your CSUF Portal.
3. Navigate to (3) Requests & Documents and open the  Practical Training (OPT or STEM-OPT) Employer Update.
   • Select the  STEM OPT Employment Period
   • Click the Employer that you are modifying
   • Update the Requested End Date with the final date of employment with the listed employer
   • Answer the question,  How is your employment related to your course work?
   • Upload page 5 of the I-983 ( refer to the guide to complete the evaluation pdf file )
   • Submit the form
