Shari Merrill
Associate Director of Study Abroad and Global Engagement

Advises current CSUF students and alumni about Fulbright and Boren U.S. Student Program opportunities. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and departments on program and engagement opportunities, policies, and procedures. Oversees risk management protocols and assessment activities.  Supports institutional relations management with educational partners and institutions. 

Countries visited: Belgium, China and Hong Kong, Cuba, Cyprus, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden.

Abigail Segura
Study Abroad and Global Engagement Advisor

Advises students exploring study abroad and global engagement opportunities, including semester, academic year, and short-term faculty-led programs. Provides comprehensive guidance on program selection, application procedures, and study abroad policies. Informs and supports students through all stages of the application process. Advises on scholarships, program options, and funding resources to help make international experiences accessible and affordable.

Countries visited: Mexico, Thailand, China and Hong Kong, New Zealand, Germany, Greece, France, Spain, Italy, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic

Kettley Valcourt
Study Abroad and Global Engagement Lead

Supports department and faculty-led international programs. Experienced in guiding faculty through the program development process—from initial planning and application support to coordinating logistics, budgets, and pre/post-program evaluations. Works closely and collaboratively with faculty and academic departments to bring their program visions to life, offering guidance and support every step of the way.  Facilitates program coordination and recruitment activities, all while ensuring compliance with university policies and safety protocols to deliver smooth, impactful global learning experiences.
